I detect nothing much more here than belly-aching by some in certain branches of science about not getting the government funding they would like. So this talk itself is politics, not science! The sad thing is that no mention is made of market based solutions to environmental problems, not a word.

In particular regarding Dr. Baltimore, I thought his piety and pompous dismissal of those who might have a differing opinion was sad from someone with so much power and influence.
I also question how Bush can be so misunderestimated when the LA Times lauded his nuanced approach to embryonic stem cell research, and when Bush has been pushing Hydrogen and flex fuel during his entire term.
Finally, how disingenuous to leave out the word embryonic when criticizing those who oppose embryonic stem cell research. Made the rest of what he had to say much less credible and open to suspicion that he is just a lefty elitist.
